Fast readout of scintillating fiber arrays using position-sensitive photomultipliers

Experimental results obtained with commercially available PSPMs coupled to 0.5-mm diameter scintillating fiber arrays show space resolution of < 200 μm and time resolution better than 1 ns with a detection efficiency of about 90%. In addition, the preliminary studies indicate the feasibility of s...

Description
Summary:Experimental results obtained with commercially available PSPMs coupled to 0.5-mm diameter scintillating fiber arrays show space resolution of < 200 μm and time resolution better than 1 ns with a detection efficiency of about 90%. In addition, the preliminary studies indicate the feasibility of separating double-tracks with a minimum distance of 3 mm using this technology.
