Summary:The purpose of this study was to explore the relationships between transformational leadership, organizational climate, workplace friendship, and job involvement of administrative staff in administrative departments and academic units at private science and technology universities in Southern Taiwan. A survey was conducted and 340 valid questionnaires were collected. To verify the study’s hypothesis, data were examined using item analysis, exploratory factor analysis (hereinafter referred to as factor analysis), internal consistency reliability, descriptive statistics analysis, Pearson’s correlation analysis, and partial least squares (PLS) structural equation modeling. The main findings are as follows: (1) Transformational leadership had significantly positive effects on organizational climate and job involvement. (2) Organizational climate also had significantly positive effects on job involvement. (3) The impacts of transformational leadership on job involvement are mediated by organizational climate. (4)
