Description
Summary:The December 17 decision by the European Council immediately translated into a list of challenges that Turkey faces in its quest to complete accession negotiations with the EU. While the process itself will be long, open-ended, and challenging for the both sides, the launch of the talks is expected to provide a significant anchor for Turkey to continue reforms to stabilize its economy and attract much-needed foreign investment. Apart from a number of macroeconomic problems primary challenges are expected to be in the agricultural sector, the environment and SME sector.
