Summary:On-line partial discharge detection of motor stator bar plays an important role in ensuring generator equipment safety and stable operation of power system. At present, the methods for detecting the partial discharge of motor insulation mainly include visual method, ultraviolet imaging method and so on. These methods have problems and shortcomings such as difficulty in calibration, vulnerability to interference and inconvenience to online monitoring. Based on the theory of electromagnetic radiation, an ultra-high frequency sensor for motor partial discharge wireless detection is designed. The experimental platform was also built to measure the corona discharge of stator bar. The research results show that the ultra-high frequency sensor designed in this paper can effectively detect the partial discharge signal of the stator bar under typical defects. The research results can provide reference for the online detection of corona discharge in the stator winding of large motors in power plants.
