It has been designed to produce an X-Ray dose of hundreds of Rads at 1 meter with an X-Ray focal spot size of less than 2 mm. We present first a description of the different elements of the accelerator. We detail more especially the high voltage generators and their performances, which are necessary to have a good reproducibility of the beam at the end of the accelerator for each shot. In 1999, the acceptance tests were made with a 2 kA beam. At the beginning of 2001, we increased the current of the injector at 3.1 kA. We relate the first results of the performances of the machine with a 20 MeV-3.1 kA beam. |
