Summary: | We have proposed a Core-Reservation-based Routing, Modulation, Core and Spectrum Assignment (RMCSA) algorithm for Multi-Core Fiber (MCF) based SDM-EON. The algorithm divides the available cores into two sets based on the severity of inter-core crosstalk (XT). The algorithm intelligently circumvents the XT by choosing the non-adjacent set of cores on a priority basis. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm performs better than the benchmark algorithm in terms of bandwidth-blocking probability. Also, it results in comparatively fair bandwidth allocation for connection requests with heterogeneous bandwidth demands. |
