Summary: | The control of charge state equilibrium plays a very important role in the battery energy management system (BEMS) of electric vehicles. Due to the difference of energy conversion efficiency of different cells in the process of charge and discharge, the state of charge (SOC) of different cells becomes unbalanced, which leads to potential safety and stability problems of BEMS. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes a distributed charge state regulator with negative feedback control mechanism. It can make the cell with high charge release more energy when discharging and absorb less energy when charging; and conversely, the cell with low charge can release less energy when discharging and absorb more energy when charging. Therefore, the charge state of all the cells can reach the same SOC level after charging and discharging. Finally, the feasibility and stability of the proposed charge state regulator are verified by a specific example. |
