description | In the present work, the basics of the irreversible electroporation method and aspects of effective planning of the electroporation procedure using methods of finite element analysis are considered. A modeling approach is proposed to solve the problem of performing efficient electroporation procedures by determining the optimal geometric configuration of the electrodes. The results obtained showed that, based on the distribution of the fields, the need to create overlapping fields for the complete destruction of tumors with a diameter of more than 10 mm is obvious. For the effective performance of the electroporation procedure, it is important to perform planning of procedure with the selection of the geometric configurations of the electrodes and the sequence of electrical pulses allowing to achieve the maximum overlapping of tumors, working in the required range of intensities. |
