Summary: | Memristor-based memory is an emerging technology that may replace conventional memories due to their compact size, higher density, lower power consumption, and non-volatile properties. Moreover, soft error immunity is considered one of the key factors which prefer one memory device over another. Therefore, a well-organized and effective soft error-correcting method is required to enhance the reliability of memristor-based memory. There is still negligible research on soft error tolerance in this field. Hence, this paper introduces a new error-correcting technique to tolerate soft errors in memristor-based memories. It can detect and correct up to three-bit soft errors in any memristor-based memory. Concerning existing techniques, the proposed method has lower information redundancy for the correction of all possible single, double, and triple-bit errors. |
