Description
Summary:In this paper, a program developed by full wave simulation and physical optics method is used to calculate far-field radiation characteristics of radome system (radome and antenna array inside it). There are two parts in the program. a. the aperture field of an antenna array, which is made of the 5 Ă— 1 horn array, simulates by the full wave method. b. and then put the aperture field into the tangential oval radome as the radiation source. The far-field pattern of the antenna array with radome is calculated by physical optics method (PO). The patterns calculated by the program compare in the different situations including antenna array, antenna array inside the tangential oval air radome, and antenna array inside the tangential oval radome of dielectric material. The results show that compared with the antenna radiation array, the main lobe of the far field radiated by the antenna array passing through the tangent oval air radome is close, and the amplitude of the far field pattern passing through the tangent oval dielectric radome is reduced.
