Description
Summary:A coupled-line coupler with column grid array (CGA) package is proposed and investigated in this paper. The coupler configuration consists of a pair of microstrip coupled line and two pairs of coupled column that integrated in a column grid array package. The schematic diagram of the coupler and an approximate design method is given. A prototype of the proposed coupler with -16dB coupling coefficient has been designed, fabricated, and measured. Good correlation between the measured results and those of the theoretically designed justifies the approximate design process is good enough to meet the requirement for engineering applications.
