Description
Summary:This manuscript presents a novel millimeter-wave filtering magneto-electric (ME) dipole antenna with two controllable gain nulls. The slots etched on the two patches generate a gain null in the higher band by introducing reverse current. By making the T-shaped feeding line short-circuited, another gain null is generated in the lower band. These two gain nulls are effectively adjusted through varying the length of T-shaped microstrip line and slots on electric dipole arms. After fine optimization, a wide impedance bandwidth from 23.9 to 31.3 GHz for S 11 < -14 dB is achieved. The realized peak gain in the working band is stable at approximately 6.5 dBi. The out-of-band suppression level reaches approximately 18 dB and 10 dB at the gain nulls of the lower and higher bands, respectively. The filtering ME dipole realizes a high radiation efficiency of greater than 95% within the whole working band.
