Description
Summary:Since the first MODICON 084 PLC, their performances have been continuously improved. Today, there are PLCs whose digital outputs can be configured as high-speed outputs. In this paper a closed-loop control application that allows testing the PLC high speed outputs port configured to generate PWM signals is presented. The application consists in controlling of the angular position of a balance using two brushless motors kits for drones attached at the ends of the balance. The speed of each brushless motor can be adjusted with a servo PWM signal with period equal to 20 ms and the pulse width between 1 ms and 2 ms. The proposed solution can be used by students or specialists for training because it offers an experience closer to the real-world applications.
