Summary: | This paper demonstrates an explicit structure of the maximum likelihood (ML) digital data sequence detector and the ML carrier phase estimator for MT-CDMA signals, considering Gaussian distributed combined interference. The demonstration is based on the entire sequence of observations on the received signal. We present the bit error rate (BER) performance analysis in the indoor Rayleigh fading channel. The receiver structure and the performance results lead to new insights and conclusions concerning maximum likelihood sequence estimation (MLSE), which do not use any iterative approach or Viterbi algorithm (VA). |
