Description
Summary:The customers use various load types within the service territory of a utility. Utilities make sure the enhancement of the utilization of substations. The utilization of the transformers' total capacity cannot be reduced just because the transformer and its parameters selection were not proper. Utilities need to understand the customers' maximum dynamic loading amount to select the size and parameters of all transformers in the substation to ensure a safe and reliable power supply. In dynamic loading, the critical issues are the asymmetric fault currents on the high voltage and heat generation within the transformer. As dynamic loading increases, the transformer's secondary current increases, and the losses within the transformer increase. We found that the utilization of all transformers' total capacity can be maximum when its parameters are selected beforehand with the consideration of dynamic loading. We report that the utilization of the transformer's total capacity and the maximum amount of the customers' dynamic loading can be related.
