Summary:The paper provides an analysis of synoptic conditions leading to the dangerous phenomenon of aircraft icing. The necessity of zones localization containing supercooled liquid is shown. Various methods for detecting supercooled liquid by radar are evaluated. A fuzzy-logical algorithm for the classification of hydrometeors specific to the phenomenon of aircraft icing has been developed and its primary training has been carried out using simulation data. The effectiveness of the proposed classification algorithm has been analyzed. It is shown that the classification validity using the developed algorithm when observing hydrometeors in the case of dangerous icing reaches 98%.
