Summary: | This paper proposed a fully discontinuous-conduction-mode (DCM) clamped-current boost power-factor-corrector (CCB PFC). The reverse-recovery of the boost diode is eliminated so that the overall efficiency is improved. Low THD and high PF input current waveforms are still achieved. It is attractive in cost-sensitive medium to low power level applications. Detailed analysis is presented, and a 100 W prototype with universal-input-voltage-range has been designed to verify the theoretic analysis. |
