Summary:We propose partial-MIMO mode group division multiplexing (MGDM) to parallelize MIMO processing of spatial division multiplexing in multi-mode fibers. The digital signal processing required to overcome inter-modal crosstalk, applying mode group-based MIMO, is significantly reduced with respect to a full-MIMO approach, while preserving transmission performance.
