Comments on "Mixed Near-Field and Far-Field Sources Localization Using the Uniform Linear Sensor Array"
In the above article (Jiang et al., 2013), the authors proposed a new method for estimating the direction-of-arrivals (DOAs) of mixed far-field and near-field sources. The aim of this comment is to point out that the derivation of DOA estimation is not rigorous, and there are erroneous solutions for...

Summary: | In the above article (Jiang et al., 2013), the authors proposed a new method for estimating the direction-of-arrivals (DOAs) of mixed far-field and near-field sources. The aim of this comment is to point out that the derivation of DOA estimation is not rigorous, and there are erroneous solutions for the DOAs of multiple far-field sources, i.e., the proposed DOA estimation method cannot provide the unique solutions, which will lead to incorrect source localization. |
