Summary: | The process of packing items without the intervention of a manual worker is referred to as automatic product packaging. Over the years, automated packaging systems have progressed from discrete machines that automate only one stage in the packaging process to systems that now seamlessly include every step into the entire packaging process. This project presents the design and implementation of a machine that sorts red and green apples using a microcontroller, proximity sensor, and colour sensor. The machine can scan each apple using the proximity and colour sensors and then separating them using a conveyor belt, where they are labelled separately and sent to different directions. The machine is designed using an Arduino UNO, proximity sensor, light sensor, led lights, conveyor belt, rollers, colour sensor and power supply. The accuracy of the machine is tested, and the results show that it has a high sorting accuracy of over 90%. This machine can be used in apple processing industries to increase efficiency and reduce labour costs. Overall, the designed machine provides an effective and automated solution for sorting apples based on their colour, providing a practical and reliable solution for apple processing industries. |
