Summary: | For a developing country like India, agriculture is the backbone of its economy. Nevertheless, farmers face significant challenges all year long. Overproduction is a common problem among farmers. There might be regions in the city deprived of harvest while somewhere the crop is redundant. The study area selected is the district of Madurai in the state of Tamil Nadu, India with a cultural richness and devotion to agriculture and also a hot spot for tourism. Thus, our main aim is to provide maps of location of farm lands, hotels, catering services and food processing industries in our study area. With this GIS - based information system assisted data analysis, a network of various agricultural sectors can be connected directly without any middleman in order to reduce wastage and promote the farmer's well-being thereby benefitting farmers and the community in every aspect. |
