Description
Summary:A miniaturized low-frequency magnetoelectric (ME) antenna is proposed with the ME coupling effect as a premise in this paper. The proposed ME antenna employs an L-T vibrational mode with a unit size of 58 mm × 10 mm × 5 mm. The ME heterojunction enables the conversion between electromagnetic (EM) and electric fields, allowing the antenna to function for both transmission and reception purposes, thus forming a portable low-frequency communication system. In this study, we conducted separate characterizations of the ME antenna's reception and transmission capabilities, demonstrating bidirectional reception and transmission at a frequency of 31.8 kHz. The low-frequency communication system can achieve at least 16 m signal transmission and reception during the actual test in air. Given these characteristics, the system has great potential for applications in underwater communications, energy harvesting, underground rescue operations, and mining communications.
