Summary:Lead halide perovskites have garnered extensive attention in photovoltaics, light emitting devices (LEDs), lasers, as well as radiation detection. Cesium lead bromide (CsPbBr 3 ) based semiconductor radiation detector that has the potential to match the gamma detection properties of the leading edge RTSDs such as cadmium zinc telluride (CZT) and thallium bromide (TlBr). The high attenuation coefficient of CsPbBr3, owing to the presence of lead, along with its long carrier lifetime and high mobility, have made it a perfect candidate for use in the detection of gamma radiation.
