Summary: | The accuracy of bio-impedance measurements is heavily dependent on how well the electrodes make contact with the body. Accuracy may be significantly degraded due to skin related artifacts such as dry or scaly skin, presence of hair, etc. These problems get exacerbated when used by patients at home and appropriate skin preparation is not ideal. This paper discusses a method to address these problems allowing accurate bio-impedance measurements in the presence of large skin impedance artifacts. Both the circuit design and the data processing will be described. The solution is evaluated on synthetic circuit setups and on humans. |
