Temporal gain variations in time-division multiplexed Raman pumping schemes

We implemented a single-wavelength, pulsed Raman pump with several Watts of output power, widely variable duty cycle and repetition rate, and 12 dB extinction ratio (maximum power/minimum power) using a cascaded Raman fiber lasers at 1465 nm that was modulated by a LiNbO/sub 3/ Mach-Zehnder modulato...

Description
Summary:We implemented a single-wavelength, pulsed Raman pump with several Watts of output power, widely variable duty cycle and repetition rate, and 12 dB extinction ratio (maximum power/minimum power) using a cascaded Raman fiber lasers at 1465 nm that was modulated by a LiNbO/sub 3/ Mach-Zehnder modulator and passed through a dual stage, high-power cascaded Raman fiber amplifier (CRA).
