Description
Summary:The lack of gender diversity in STEM fields has been a long-standing issue. To inspire and encourage the next generation of female scientists and engineers, the Zoom a WISE Woman program brings together a group of accomplished female scientists and engineers to share their "STEM Stories" with K-12 students from around the country. In this panel session, the Outreach Committee of the Texas A&M University Women in Science & Engineering (WISE) organization provides FIE audience members with a sample of their widely successful "Zoom a WISE Woman" virtual outreach program. Audience members will have an opportunity to engage with a panel of female scientists and engineers who have experience volunteering with the Zoom a WISE Woman program to learn about how their engagement has impacted their sense of STEM identity, confidence, and experience as a role model to younger generations.
