Summary: | The output power capability of the parallel hybrid excitation generator (PHEG), consisting of permanent magnet machine part and reluctance machine part, is restricted by the flow of the reactive power in its two parts. To improve this issue, a compensation method using middle parallel capacitors is proposed. This method compensates both capacitive and inductive reactive power in the two parts reasonably. Then the active power of the two parts both increase, ensuring the active power improvement of the PHEG. Compared to the traditional parallel capacitor method, this method has the advantages of the reduced the current and voltage on the capacitors. In the paper, the proposed topology is introduced. The reactive compensation method is revealed and explained. The constant-voltage operation performance is evaluated. At last, experiments verify the proposed method. |
