Summary: | Bidirectional thrust bearing is one of the important components of the hydroelectric power generation system of the pumped storage (PS) power station, and frequent start-up process is of the most critical operating condition affecting the service life of the bearing. Due to the high thermal deformation of the bearing support parts at low speed conditions, the dynamic characteristics of cooling oil is deteriorated. In this paper, the transient simulation of the thrust bearing start-up process is realized through the combination of finite element temperature field calculation and fluid dynamics analysis with MATLAB. Compared discuss between the process of cold start and warm start has been proposed, and the parameters affecting the temperature distribution of the thrust bearing pad and oil film has been analyzed in two cases. |
