Summary: | A microprocessor-based closed-loop system has been developed for wind-driven self-excited induction generators using a controlled rectifier to maintain a constant DC load voltage with varying rotor speeds. The configuration and implementation of the control scheme are described. Test results on a self-excited induction generator demonstrate the satisfactory performance of both the hardware and the software of the control scheme, and the utility of the set-up as a whole. The steady-state analysis of the generator is extended to include the controlled rectifier, and the performance characteristics are predicted.< > |
