Description
Summary:This paper presents a safety monitoring system for workers in factory environments. This aims to monitor the workers' position in relation to hazardous zones and to issue timely alerts for potential safety risks. The suggested system uses Ultra-Wideband (UWB) positioning with vibrating vests to provide tactile proximity alerts. The block diagram of the system is detailed and subsequently implemented within the context of a control room. The findings show interesting positioning accuracy under static and dynamic conditions, as well. Hence, the proposed UWB vibrotactile safety monitoring system promises enhanced safety and productivity among the industrial workforce with a reduced risk of accidents and fatalities in the workplace.
