Description
Summary:A 2D photonic crystal based on triangular lattice structure has been designed for anaemia diagnosis. The optical biosensor has been proposed with the aim of improvement in healthcare diagnostics. Anaemia is a condition which involves low haemoglobin concentration in blood and is a global concern. Hence, early and accurate detection of anaemia is very important. The proposed biosensor works on the concept of creating narrow passband within a specific photonic bandgap of a photonic crystal where a defect has been incorporated. Blood sample of an anaemia affected patient has been used as a point defect within the photonic crystal. The proposed biosensor is expected to immensely benefit anaemia patients as it will help in timely intervention.
