Summary:Having known by the facts on the ageing studies on insulating oil, it is ever important to know the key indicators encompassed within this. One of the crucial things in ageing study is to map the relevant parameters with the method which it is related to. Here, in this short review however insightful way is to relate the outcomes of depolymerization of paper insulation during the ageing process on various insulating fluids. In this context, the indicators besieged in the content provides not only a foreknowledge but also details of ageing method adopted, key properties, target application, standards used, special tests and software used. Overall, these data serve as a package to develop new concepts in ageing studies on insulating fluids. The scope for the future research encompasses with state-of-the-art method to improve the speed of analysis via comprehensive tools. This applies to insulating oils used in both the Power Transformer (PT) and the Distribution Transformer (DT).
