Description
Summary:This paper introduces a complete design, simulation, and implementation of multiband RF energy harvesting (RFEH) system, including an RF-DC rectifier and DC-DC boost converter to energize low-power sensors and devices. The system operates efficiently at 900 MHz (GSM) and 2.4 GHz (WiFi) to be utilized by commercial applications. The rectifier, characterized by its extended power range and high conversion efficiency, facilitates effective energy harvesting across multiple spectral bands. Capable of converting signals as low as -20 dBm into 4-volt output voltage, this design is instrumental in powering low-power sensors and devices. The proposed design is modeled and simulated by Advanced Design System (ADS) platform, verified by experimental validation. Results from both simulations and measurements confirm the system's ability to energize a low power sensor at -20 dBm input, translating to an efficiency of the rectifier up to 50%.
