Summary: | With wireless technology is widely used in outdoor lighting control systems, the wireless network performance determines the system operation quality. The lighting pole distance and antenna height influence the wireless performance of the street lighting system due to the plane earth loss. In this paper, theoretical plane earth loss of wireless street lighting systems is analyzed. Then the hybrid wireless street lighting system is presented and the wireless link quality targets are given. Based on theoretical analysis and these targets, simulation with different parameter settings is performed. Therefore, a wireless street lighting network optimizing method by changing the antenna height or pole distance is clearly proposed to enhance the wireless network performance. |
