Description
Summary:Quality of experience (QoE) is an important measure for determining the level of user satisfaction with a service, and the exploration of specific factors that affect QoE is necessary. We conducted a subjective QoE evaluation experiment for 8K broadcasting by incorporating 8K video characteristics, namely the sense of reality (RE) and sense of presence (PR), as influence factors. Several compressed 8K videos were evaluated for various screen sizes and viewing distances considering a practical use case. The participants answered four questions relating to the video quality (VQ), RE, PR, and QoE for each test video. We analyzed the experimental results and investigated the relationship between the QoE and other factors (VQ, RE, and PR) under various viewing conditions. The results suggest that 1) multiple factors affect the QoE and 2) the factors are not always positively correlated, even if a factor has a positive meaning (e.g., RE and PR).
