Description
Summary:Fifth Generation and beyond (5G+) systems are envisioned to support millions of devices supporting numerous advanced applications and services. 5G+ is not only going to provide general services for the end users, but also is planned to cut across most of the industry verticals to support numerous heterogeneous applications. The key behind these applications is the network slicing. It allows different class of applications pertaining to various vertical use-cases by orchestrating the network resources. However, due to dynamic nature of the traffic demand related to these applications, static slicing can lead to wastage of resources. This can create under-fitting or over-fitting scenarios. In this paper, we propose a dynamic slice creation and management model for a 5G+ system. It is an efficient real-time and predictive slice creation mechanism that supports Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to these applications and ensures resource allocation mechanism by adapting Inter-slice as well as Intra-slice allocation methods. The proposed model is supported with rigorous simulation results.
