Summary: | This paper aims to present the performance of the co-planar waveguide (CPW) antenna design for ambient RF energy harvesting applications. By adding a pair of parallel CPW side-by-side edges, the proposed antenna structure results in an omnidirectional radiation pattern. It can harvest energy from a standard RF signal operating in the 5 GHz ISM Wi-Fi band. The designed antenna acts as a harvester antenna and can be merged with the common L-type matching voltage doubler circuit. An analysis of the harvester antenna's performance is conducted by combining the antenna with the circuit using two Schottky diode models, SMS7630 and HSMS2850. The performance demonstrates excellent reflection coefficient and transfer coefficients in both evaluations. |
