Description
Summary:Understanding the distribution of plantar pressures is a crucial aspect of foot biomechanics since it helps identify areas where excessive pressure is exerted on the foot sole. For this reason, how the pressure is distributed on the sole is a critical factor, as an inadequate distribution of pressure on the sole can lead to injuries. This paper outlines the development of a plantar pressure measurement system that utilizes FSR (Force Sensitive Resistors) sensors to create a detailed pressure map of the foot sole. This paper outlines the development of a plantar pressure measurement system that utilizes FSR sensors to develop a detailed pressure map of the foot sole. To improve the visual interpretation of the load distribution system, interpolation methods are incorporated to enhance the visual interpretation of the load distribution. As part of the preliminary approach, three interpolation methods were compared and implemented to develop the system by increasing the resolution of the plantar pressure distribution.
