Description
Summary:This paper proposes a control scheme for a distributed generator to eliminate the negative-sequence voltage at a remote point of the power system based on the virtual grid concept. The proposed control includes an additional algorithm for limiting the maximum current of the three-phase inverter. This protects the inverter from overcurrent and thus prevents it from being damaged. The aforementioned properties are achieved through the use of both local voltage and current measurements, as well as the remote negative-sequence voltage, which is received by the communication system. The static and dynamic characteristics of the proposed control are validated by selected experimental results obtained in a laboratory setting.
