Summary: | In this study, a cable featuring extruded polyethylene insulation and designed for CERN fast-pulsed magnet systems is assessed. The evaluation focuses on radiation resistance, with cable samples subjected to accelerated ageing using gamma radiation. Comprehensive measurements, including partial discharge, tan delta, dielectric spectroscopy, tensile tests, and oxidation induction time tests, have been conducted to analyze the ageing of the polymeric components due to radiation. |
