Summary:A technology has been developed for producing step-index fibers based on the AgBr-AgI system single crystals. The fiber cladding is made of 8 \mathrm{~mol}. \% \mathrm{AgI} in AgBr, core 12 mol. \% AgI in AgBr. The fiber diameter was 1120 \mu \mathrm{m}, core diameter 550 \mu \mathrm{m}. The fiber is suitable for IR lasers and pyrometry.
