A Passive, Gain-Boosted, Impedance-Transforming N-path BPF achieving sub-1dB NF
This paper presents a Passive, Gain-boosted N-path band-pass filter achieving sub-ldB noise figure. It uses discrete-time parametric amplifier (DTPA) to achieve amplification. To achieve higher gain, the DTPAs are cascaded. Voltage-gain achieved by cascading DTPAs helps in impedance translation to a...

Summary: | This paper presents a Passive, Gain-boosted N-path band-pass filter achieving sub-ldB noise figure. It uses discrete-time parametric amplifier (DTPA) to achieve amplification. To achieve higher gain, the DTPAs are cascaded. Voltage-gain achieved by cascading DTPAs helps in impedance translation to achieve matching at the input of the filter. The design and simulation results of the proposed filter are presented. The proposed filter is tunable from 0.5-1.7 GHz with voltage-gain >28 dB and NF ranging from 0.91-1.4 dB. |
