Summary: | Blood pressure, a crucial factor in human health that aids in diagnosing many health issues, can be measured using various methods. While some approaches require the expertise of a professional, it would be more convenient if patients could measure it themselves. To address this, automated upper arm blood pressure monitors have been proposed, utilizing a microcontroller as the hardware control unit and signal processor. However, these monitors often have limited processing algorithms, which can affect the accuracy of pressure measurements due to their simplicity. Therefore, this paper aims to combine efficient signal processing algorithms with low computation complexity to create an approach for blood pressure monitoring that is not only accurate and cost-effective with the use of an inexpensive microcontroller but also robust against common noise encountered in practical situations. |
