Description
Summary:With the increasing use of DC electrical networks, there is a need to investigate the effect of such conditions on electrical insulation systems (EIS). One of these effects in this field is a space charge accumulation in the volume of the particular material. This work aims to study the space charge distribution in several polymeric materials (PET, PP, PEEK, Teflon FEP). The space charge distribution was measured using the pulsed electroacoustic method (PEA) by Techimp. In centres of different specimens, there are differences in space charge accumulation. These differences are highly dependent on the dielectric properties and internal structure of specimens. The result is a catalogue for several measured polymer materials depending on their ability to accumulate space charge. This knowledge can be used in further research and the selection of materials depending on their properties in terms of space charge accumulation.
