description The increasing utilization of the Internet of Things (IoT) has the potential to transform the Quality Infrastructure (QI) by encompassing all its fundamental components: metrology, standardization, accreditation, conformity assessment, and market surveillance. The objective of this paper is to analyze the applications, potentialities, and challenges of using IoT within the context of QI 4.0. The research was conducted through an integrative review, and the results indicate that IoT can facilitate the automation of processes, improve the traceability of products and services, and enable the creation of new standards based on real-time data. However, significant challenges such as cybersecurity, data privacy, and device interoperability must be overcome for QI 4.0 to be fully realized.
