Summary:While fire breaks out in a warehouse, it blows out and cause damage to property as well as life. It is important for the companies to take their fire safety seriously in warehouses. Efficient way is to avert fire before its occurrence. Hence, it is important to detect the occurrence of fire early and act instantaneously. In view of this, a hybrid method has been proposed using information communication technology. Image processing and sensor based technologies has been used to detect the fire. An alarm system has been provided to alert the people in and around the warehouse. It has been proposed to send Short Message Service (SMS) to the remote fire station in order to enable the fire station to attend the place early. Also, Facility has been incorporated to send SMS to Electricity Board (EB) so that they can put off EB supply in that area, thereby further spreading of fire can be minimized. Hence, the proposed work will be useful for controlling the fire accidents in warehouses.
