Summary: | Recently, a new concept for a gyrotron backward-wave oscillator (gyro-BWO) with an ultra-broadband frequency tunability based on the use of an electrodynamic system in the form of an open quasi-optical mirror line providing a zigzag path of the operating wave beam was proposed and experimentally tested. In this work, we propose a gyro-BWO with an electrodynamic system consisting of two sets of mirrors providing zigzag-type transportation of two independent waves. The basic idea is the use of excitation of different waves at different magnetic fields to improve the frequency characteristics of this gyro-BWO. |
