Description
Summary:The primary objective of this study is to elucidate the mechanism of insulation degradation in cast resin transformers subjected to surge stress. To achieve this, it is essential to quantitatively assess the relationships among impulse pre-stress, subsequent AC partial discharge (PD) characteristics, and the degree of material degradation. In this paper, impulse pre-stress and subsequent AC PD characteristics were measured on void specimens. The results quantitatively demonstrate the relationship between the impulse PD charge and the total subsequent AC PD charge.
