Summary: | This paper introduces the design of a constrained model predictive control (MPC) scheme for the speed and current control of an induction motor (IM) drive. In the control scheme, an inner MPC controller is used to regulate the d-q currents; while an outer loop is used to regulate the speed of the IM. The cascade MPC scheme is formulated as a constrained optimization problem to fulfill the operational limits for the current and voltage of the IM. Simulation results on Matlab/Simulink are presented to validate the proposed control scheme. |
