Description
Summary:This study introduces an ultra-compact, low-power electric field sensor made of two-dimensional material graphene, which can be an alternative to the traditional electric field mills. The graphene electric field sensor can effectively detect the polarity and the magnitude of the electric field. The effectiveness of the graphene sensor is demonstrated in a field test where it was able to detect both lightning and thundercloud movement within a range of 15 km, performing comparably to a standard electric field mill.
